External Intelligence & Innovation Director (LatAm)

About the role

MetLife is seeking a LatAm External Intelligence & Innovation Director to drive the New Frontier strategy. The role will turn external market signals into actionable business opportunities and co‑lead the creation of innovative solutions that enhance the customer value proposition.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor macro, consumer, regulatory, technology (including AI) and competitor trends across Latin America and globally.
• Translate trends into clear strategic implications and executive‑ready narratives for senior leadership.
• Own the external opportunity funnel: define problems, target segments, quantify value pools and prioritize initiatives.
• Lead cross‑functional discovery and ideation with Strategy, Product, Distribution, Transformation and Marketing teams.
• Synthesize insights into concept briefs, value propositions, customer journeys and business cases; run pilots and test‑and‑learn experiments.
• Apply Generative AI to accelerate horizon scanning, insight synthesis, rapid prototyping and risk assessment while ensuring responsible AI practices.
• Identify AI use‑cases that can reshape processes, operating models and growth opportunities, partnering with Technology and Data teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in external intelligence, market research or strategic innovation, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector.
• Strong track record of influencing senior leadership and delivering strategic recommendations.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and drive projects from idea to execution.
• Deep understanding of AI technologies and their practical application in business contexts.
