Director of Shorts (YouTube Animation)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Shorts to lead the creative direction of SolarBalls’ YouTube Shorts channel. The role oversees the entire production pipeline, from concept development to final publication, delivering engaging short‑form animated content that drives audience growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead creative development of Shorts, turning educational and entertainment ideas into compelling animations.
• Direct all production aspects including pacing, timing, storytelling, visual comedy, and overall execution.
• Collaborate with animators, editors, designers, scriptwriters and other creatives to ensure high‑quality output.
• Continuously experiment with new formats and iterate based on performance data.
• Analyze content metrics to refine future Shorts and inform strategy.
• Help build and scale a dedicated Shorts production team.

Required profile

• Proven experience directing animated content, preferably for YouTube.
• Previous leadership of creative or animation teams.
• Deep understanding of YouTube content strategy, audience behavior and optimization.
• Strong visual storytelling instincts with an eye for pacing and comedic timing.
