Director, Functional Area Geography Lead – External Data Management (Argentina)

About the role

The Director, Functional Area Geography Lead – External Data Management for Argentina provides strategic and operational oversight of all functional‑area activities within the country. Reporting to global data‑management leadership, the role defines and executes regional plans, drives staff performance and succession, and ensures compliance with both local and global requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Set and communicate strategic direction for the assigned geography, aligning regional objectives with global priorities.
• Lead cross‑functional collaborations with non‑global data‑management partners and enterprise support functions.
• Champion innovation, automation and risk‑based data‑management practices while maintaining quality oversight across geographies.
• Define the operating model and multi‑year optimisation strategy for the functional area in the region.
• Ensure inspection readiness, compliance with regional processes and controls for data, processes and system changes.
• Analyse performance trends, identify efficiency opportunities and present insights to governance forums.
• Oversee regional risk, escalation and capacity‑management processes and act as the escalation point for country‑specific issues.
• Collaborate with Portfolio & Resource Operations Specialists to forecast needs, optimise capacity and implement data‑driven performance dashboards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic leadership and operational oversight of data‑management functions within a defined geography.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cross‑functional teams and drive adoption of standardized, digital data‑management practices.
• Strong understanding of regulatory, clinical and operational data requirements.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting risk, trade‑offs and decisions to senior executives.
