Design Project Coordinator – Commercial Interiors

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Workspace Planner to support our U.S. based client that works with top office furniture brands. In this remote, full‑time position you will translate client needs into precise space plans, value‑engineer furniture solutions, and produce accurate technical drawings and parts lists.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Account Managers to create high‑quality space plans, typicals, and installation drawings using CET Designer and AutoCAD.
• Own design timelines for multiple concurrent accounts, track deliverables, and manage the internal design intake queue.
• Generate zero‑error bills of materials and value‑engineer furniture selections within strict budget constraints.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between Account Managers, clients, manufacturers, and field installation teams.
• Maintain meticulous project records, including design revisions, change orders, quote modifications, and site measurement updates.
• Ensure all layouts comply with local building codes, ADA requirements, ergonomics, and client‑specific tech/electrical standards.
• Continuously learn new manufacturing extensions and propose workflow efficiencies.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial contract furniture dealership or interior design firm, preferably in both design and project coordination.
• Advanced proficiency with Configura CET Designer and AutoCAD; experience with brands such as Kimball, Steelcase, Herman Miller, or Haworth is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage project workflows, meet tight deadlines, and coordinate technical information across cross‑functional teams.
• Deep understanding of contract furniture systems, ancillary products, and on‑site installation constraints.
• Familiarity with dealership project‑management tools and ERP systems (e.g., ProjectMatrix, Hedberg).
• Knowledge of ADA compliance, LEED, and WELL Building Standards.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills for client‑ and vendor‑facing interactions.
