Derivatives Accounting & Reporting Analyst

About the role

The Derivatives Accounting and Reporting Analyst will lead the preparation, review, and oversight of derivative accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting for MetLife’s U.S. legal entities. This position ensures compliance with US GAAP, regulatory filings, and supports MetLife’s commitment to financial integrity and transparency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review derivative accounting entries, reconciliations, and US GAAP quarterly and annual disclosures (10Q/10K footnotes).
• Create efficient reporting processes and documentation to ensure audit readiness and consistency.
• Oversee data integrity and reporting accuracy for derivative instruments across systems.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders (Investments, CAR) and external auditors.
• Develop and enhance internal controls and procedures to improve quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Finance with strong technical accounting knowledge.
• 6+ years of experience in accounting or financial reporting, preferably with derivative instruments.
• CPA, MBA, or other advanced degree is a plus.
• Proven ability to analyze complex accounting issues and implement best practices.
• Strong communication and influencing skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
