Data Architect – Retail & Downstream Data Platforms

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of data platforms that support our retail and downstream business. You will bridge local business insights with global IT strategy, ensuring data products are scalable, well‑governed, and aligned with commercial needs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own end‑to‑end data architecture for ingestion, processing, and consumption layers.
• Define data modeling standards, platform patterns, and architectural principles across the ecosystem.
• Lead the creation of reusable, documented data products ready for business consumption.
• Translate local requirements into architecture decisions that fit the global data governance framework.
• Drive data quality, lineage, and cataloguing practices.
• Evaluate and recommend new data technologies, patterns, and tooling.
• Mentor data engineers and analysts, establishing guardrails and best practices.
• Collaborate with global data and IT teams to align standards and delivery priorities.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or platform roles, with at least 5 years in a senior architecture capacity.
• Proven ability to design and deliver business‑ready data products, not just pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data modeling techniques such as dimensional modeling or Data Vault.
• Hands‑on experience leading complex workflow orchestration and event‑streaming solutions.
