Compliance Manager

About the role

American Express is looking for a Regulatory Compliance Manager to lead and continuously improve the compliance programme for its Argentine legal entity. The role works closely with business leaders, Legal, Risk, Control Management, Internal Audit and global compliance teams to embed regulatory requirements into everyday operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support execution, governance and ongoing enhancement of the compliance programme in Argentina.
• Provide independent guidance on applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures.
• Oversee anti‑corruption, privacy, consumer‑protection and other regulatory programmes.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on business activities, controls and training needs.
• Partner with Legal, Risk, Control Management, Internal Audit, Operations, Marketing and other functions to embed compliance requirements.
• Assist with internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, risk assessments, testing, monitoring and remediation plans.
• Develop and deliver compliance training, awareness initiatives and communications.
• Lead compliance risk assessments, document and escalate key risks and control gaps.
• Prepare and present compliance updates, risk insights, metrics and governance materials for local and regional forums.
• Review and enhance local compliance policies, procedures and standards to align with regulatory and enterprise expectations.

Required profile

• Professional experience in compliance, legal, risk, internal audit or a related control function within financial services or another highly regulated industry.
• Strong understanding of anti‑corruption, privacy, consumer‑protection and regulatory compliance principles.
• Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders, influence decisions and provide constructive challenge.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project‑management and problem‑solving skills.
