Civil Engineer with Python – AI Trainer (Remote, Latin America)

About the role

We are building a talent pool of civil engineering professionals who are proficient in Python to help evaluate and improve frontier AI models. This remote, project‑based position lets you apply your simulation expertise to create challenging engineering problems that test AI capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Select an appropriate civil‑engineering simulation package and design problems that rely on its core solvers or kernels.
• Develop complete Python solutions, including input files, geometry, and boundary conditions.
• Define correct numerical outputs and set tolerance thresholds for AI model performance.
• Run multiple parallel AI evaluations, analyze success rates, and adjust difficulty to achieve a 10‑30% pass rate.
• Tune load cases, boundary conditions, and solver parameters iteratively.
• Submit completed tasks to a senior reviewer and refine based on feedback.

Required profile

• Academic background in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience in engineering research, applied work, or teaching.
• Strong Python programming skills for computational solutions.
• Ability to create problems that cannot be solved without specialized simulation software.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently in a fast‑paced remote environment.

Required skills

• OpenSeesPy, CalculiX, YADE, or bempp‑cl (or ability to learn quickly)
