Buyer II

About the role

The Buyer II is responsible for managing the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to ensure that material supply matches demand while supporting cost‑optimization initiatives. This position works closely with internal supply‑chain teams and external suppliers to deliver reliable, cost‑effective material solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support supply‑base and supply‑chain strategies tailored to specific customers or business units.
• Assist customers using standard processes and customized solutions where needed.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager and SCM to determine optimal sourcing approaches.
• Communicate Jabil expectations to suppliers and provide performance feedback to Materials Planners.
• Quote new and existing materials, working with the Materials Quotation Analyst when required.
• Ensure execution of Jabil pricing, terms, and Worldwide Purchasing Agreements.
• Propose sourcing options to add preferred or strategic suppliers to customers' Approved Manufacturer’s List.
• Continuously optimize material price variance (MPV) by reducing costs and limiting unfavorable variances.
• Obtain customer authorization for additional expenses such as premiums, freight, or tooling charges.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business administration, international business or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in purchasing, supply‑chain, or related roles.
• Fluent English speaking and writing.
• Strong analytical abilities, including calculations of discounts, percentages, and volumes.
• Effective presentation and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of MRP administration.
• Advanced PC skills, including proficiency with Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with Jabil software packages.
