Backend Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a senior Backend Software Engineer to join our fully remote team in Argentina. You will work in small, autonomous squads that act like mini software companies, balancing refactoring, new feature development, and strategic roadmap planning.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement backend tools and systems with high availability, performance, and concurrency in mind.
• Research and evaluate new techniques and technologies for potential adoption.
• Participate in team discussions, propose improvements, and collaborate on technical decisions.
• Perform technical analysis of existing code, refactor to improve quality, and conduct code reviews.
• Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues.
• Contribute to best‑practice standards for development, reliability, and system availability.

Required profile

• Senior backend developer with strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
• Fluent in Java or PHP; additional experience with Python is a plus.
• Previous DevOps experience is advantageous.
• Proactive, able to take ownership of projects and work autonomously.
