AWS Cloud Engineer

About the role

ON.energy is looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable AWS environments. The role is ideal for early‑career engineers with hands‑on AWS experience who are ready to take ownership of cloud infrastructure from implementation through troubleshooting and optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure using IaC tools such as CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Manage and optimize networking components including VPCs, subnets, route tables, VPNs, Direct Connect, and Transit Gateway.
• Support hybrid and multi‑account AWS environments, handling VPN, Direct Connect, and routing issues.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams on CI/CD pipelines and automation tasks.
• Monitor resources for performance, cost, and availability, and lead initial incident troubleshooting.
• Create and keep technical documentation up to date.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical education (preferably from LATAM).
• Proven ability to work independently and resolve complex networking issues.

Required skills

• AWS services: EC2, VPC, IAM, ALB/NLB, Route 53, S3, RDS, CloudWatch.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK.
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, CIDR, subnetting, routing.
• Linux system administration.
• Experience with VPN, Direct Connect, and multi‑account AWS setups.
