Assistant/Junior Stylist

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant or Junior Stylist to join our eco‑friendly downtown salon. This position is ideal for a licensed cosmetologist or a student preparing for their state board exam who wants hands‑on experience in a vibrant, client‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior stylists with shampooing, blow‑drying, and color application.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station, including salon sanitation tasks.
• Support reception duties such as greeting clients and managing appointments.
• Provide excellent customer service and help promote our ammonia‑free, PPD‑free color lines.

Required profile

• Licensed cosmetologist or currently preparing for state board certification.
• Little to no existing client base; eager to build relationships.
• Flexible availability for part‑time or full‑time schedules.
• Interest in eco‑friendly beauty practices.

Required skills

• Cosmetology licensing (or pending certification).
• Shampooing and blow‑dry techniques.
• Hair color application.
• Salon cleaning and sanitation.
• Basic reception and client‑service tasks.
