Assistant Cost Manager – Real Estate Construction

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Assistant Cost Manager to support real estate construction projects. You will work closely with project teams to develop budgets, monitor costs, and contribute to value‑engineering initiatives across all design phases.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimations for each design phase and develop the primary project budget.
• Monitor, control and prepare valuations, cash‑flow forecasts and progress measurement criteria.
• Analyse change orders, conduct cost‑benefit analyses and review budgets after design package issuance.
• Collect market cost data, support quotation processes and respond to service/material queries.
• Participate in weekly project and departmental meetings and issue progress reports on costs and reimbursable expenses.
• Collaborate on recommendation reports and value‑engineering sessions.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Architecture.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cost management or quantity surveying roles.
• Strong understanding of construction components, commercial and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
• Self‑motivated, proactive with a positive attitude and ability to work within a construction team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with cost‑estimation software such as CostX, CATO or BIM Measure.
