Argentina Conservation Director

About the role

The Argentina Conservation Director (ACD) joins The Nature Conservancy’s Argentina Executive Team, reporting to the Country Program Director. The ACD leads the delivery of TNC’s 2030 outcomes in the priority regions of Gran Chaco and Patagonia, working with internal teams and external partners across the private sector, government, and civil society.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement transformative conservation strategies for Gran Chaco and Patagonia.
• Oversee the execution of conservation outcomes using adaptive management and clear accountability.
• Build, manage, and retain a high‑performing multidisciplinary team, handling performance, engagement, and development.
• Maintain internal information systems to track progress, document lessons learned, and report results.
• Develop and manage annual and multi‑year full‑cost budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
• Lead governance and oversight of on‑site initiatives, including private‑land projects.
• Support partnership development and secure public and private financing for strategic priorities.
• Represent TNC to donors, corporate leaders, board members, and other key stakeholders, preparing presentations and reports as needed.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in conservation or environmental NGOs.
• Strong track record of delivering large‑scale, results‑oriented programs.
• Excellent ability to build and nurture partnerships across sectors.
• Demonstrated expertise in budget planning, financial management, and adaptive project oversight.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and fostering employee development.
