AI Data Engineer III

About the role

As an AI Data Engineer III you will join J.P. Morgan’s Data Engineering Group in Buenos Aires, working on large‑scale data acquisition, transformation and management to enable data‑driven business outcomes. You will collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders in a fast‑moving, innovative environment that values experimentation and continuous learning.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire, ingest and manage data from diverse sources and storage systems.
• Design, develop and optimise ETL pipelines on AWS and Databricks using Spark.
• Transform and enhance existing ETL logic, ensuring data quality, consistency and completeness.
• Implement and maintain data services and scripts using both object‑oriented and functional programming paradigms.
• Apply infrastructure‑as‑code practices with Terraform to provision cloud resources.
• Develop APIs that expose data from relational and NoSQL stores.
• Collaborate with agile development teams to deliver business‑focused solutions and architectural improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python, including Pandas and NumPy.
• Solid experience with Apache Spark for complex ETL transformations.
• Hands‑on experience with the AWS data‑engineering stack (S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Kinesis, EC2, EMR, Lambda, EKS, RDS).
• Experience using Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Familiarity with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL technologies.
• Fluent English communication skills.
