Admissions Coordinator

About the role

The Admissions Coordinator ensures a smooth, welcoming transition for new residents and their families in a long‑term care setting. Working closely with the Admissions Assistant and interdisciplinary teams, this role manages the end‑to‑end admissions process with empathy and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for prospective residents, families, hospitals, and referral sources.
• Coordinate and schedule admissions, including pre‑admission assessments and required documentation.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
• Verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and assess financial eligibility.
• Conduct facility tours and provide information to prospective residents and families.
• Collaborate with nursing, social services, and administrative staff to ensure a seamless admission experience.
• Prepare and distribute admission packets and follow up with hospitals, physicians, and case managers.
• Support marketing and outreach initiatives as needed.

Required profile

• Prior experience in admissions, healthcare, or long‑term care (strongly preferred).
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance verification processes.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
