Accounting Lead

About the role

CookUnity is looking for an Accounting Lead to drive day‑to‑day accounting operations and support the finance team’s growth. This hands‑on position ensures accurate, timely financial records while guiding a small accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting activities, allocate tasks, and track deadlines.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by team members.
• Prepare and review journal entries in line with company policies.
• Oversee balance‑sheet account reconciliations and resolve open items.
• Coordinate month‑end close activities, meet deliverable timelines, and flag risks early.
• Support variance analysis and management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, process documentation, and external audit requirements.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and propose improvements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement approved process or system changes.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising an accounting team.
• Strong understanding of journal entry preparation, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Ability to coach and develop junior accountants.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
