Senior AWS DevSecOps and Platform Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior AWS DevSecOps and Platform Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and governance of our cloud platform for a global toy manufacturer. This senior leadership‑track position will combine deep technical expertise with cross‑functional collaboration to deliver a secure, scalable, and developer‑friendly AWS environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define, govern, and evolve platform architecture standards, “golden path” patterns, and AWS reference architectures.
• Drive the creation of self‑service tools and internal developer portals using infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines and enforce AWS security best practices.
• Lead a high‑performing technical team, mentoring engineers and ensuring platform reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Implement monitoring, observability, and incident response using CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.

Required profile

• 8+ years of progressive experience in DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
• 3+ years of hands‑on Terraform development at scale.
• 3+ years of experience managing or leading technical teams.
• Strategic thinker with strong communication skills, able to present architecture decisions to engineering and executive stakeholders.
• Security‑first mindset and ownership mentality for platform reliability and cost.

• Terraform (modules, remote state, workspaces, provider management).
• CI/CD tools: AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild, GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
• AWS security services: GuardDuty, Inspector, KMS, Security Hub, WAF.
• Monitoring & observability: CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry.
• Scripting/automation: Python, Bash.
• Container orchestration: ECS, EKS, Kubernetes.
