Remote Kernel Developer – Linux Security Patching

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Kernel Developer to join our remote team at KernelCare. You will work on live kernel patching services, delivering security fixes and bug‑fixes for popular Linux kernels without requiring system reboots.

Key responsibilities

• Update existing kernels with security fixes and CVE patches in a timely manner.
• Provide support for current functionality and implement new kernel features.
• Collaborate with the automation team and optionally create Python and Bash scripts for testing patches.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in C programming and advanced debugging skills.
• Solid experience with Linux kernel core subsystems and GDB.
• Basic understanding of kernel ABI and proficiency with Git for patch and branch management.
• Excellent problem‑solving, strategic thinking, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work in an agile, fast‑paced environment and communicate in English at an upper‑intermediate level.
