Night Housekeeper

About the role

The Night Housekeeper ensures high‑quality cleaning, smooth housekeeping operations, and excellent guest service throughout the night on a cruise ship. Working closely with the Chief Housekeeper and Butler Manager, you will oversee night‑time activities, address issues promptly, and maintain Silversea standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Housekeeper in managing night‑time housekeeping, room service, and laundry.
• Patrol all vessel areas, resolve issues, and verify standards are upheld.
• Handle guest orders quickly and update the Guest Recovery Log.
• Monitor guest satisfaction, review comment cards, and act on feedback.
• Conduct random checks in public areas, toilets, launderettes, and rooms to ensure cleaning standards.
• Prepare daily handover reports for the Chief Housekeeper and Butler Manager.
• Maintain and update the Silver Compass system and relevant logs (USPH, IPM, maintenance).
• Supervise work schedules, time‑and‑attendance records, and staff training for night teams.
• Liaise with HR on personnel matters and uphold a fair corrective‑action process.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently during night shifts.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with guests, crew, and management.
• Commitment to confidentiality and high standards of hospitality.
• Ability to lead and motivate a night housekeeping team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Silver Compass housekeeping system.
• Experience using a Time and Attendance application.
• Familiarity with USPH and IPM logging procedures.
