Assistant Community Manager

About the role

Avanath is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to support the Community Manager in daily operations, including reporting, rent processing, leasing, marketing, and overseeing the community when the manager is absent. The role requires a professional, positive attitude toward residents and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide A+ customer service, respond to resident inquiries, and organize appreciation events.
• Collect, post, and deposit rents and other income; manage delinquency communications and enforce lease agreements.
• Assist with leasing duties, tour prospective residents, and ensure Fair Housing compliance.
• Maintain compliance files, support evictions per company procedures, and represent the property in court when required.
• Oversee property operations and staff in the Community Manager’s absence and support leasing consultants.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as an Assistant Community Manager.
• Knowledge of LIHTC/Tax Credit programs, landlord/tenant law, and Fair Housing regulations.
• Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to handle resident and staff concerns.
• Resourceful, organized, and able to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Yardi Voyager property management software.
• Solid computer skills: Windows environment, Microsoft Word, Excel, internet and email.
• Bookkeeping and rent collection experience.
