Tax & Royalties Analyst

About the role

The Tax & Royalties Analyst supports Chevron's Production, Revenue & Royalty Accounting (PR&RA) department, ensuring accurate accounting of U.S. state and federal royalties, tax payments, and related accruals. The role blends financial expertise with technology adoption, helping the team modernize processes through data analytics, automation, and digital tools.

Key responsibilities

• Apply accounting principles to record U.S. state/federal royalties, tax payments, expense accruals and receivables.
• Prepare royalty and tax reports and payments in line with lease agreements and regulations.
• Process private royalty owner payments and calculate tax withholdings.
• Participate in month/quarter/year‑end close activities, including variance analysis and account reconciliation.
• Identify and resolve balance issues, supporting litigation avoidance and owner‑sensitive matters.
• Collaborate across multi‑disciplinary teams and geographies, ensuring SOX and internal‑control compliance.
• Support the implementation of SAP S/4HANA and other digital solutions.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of accounting principles applied to royalties and tax.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and lease‑based reporting.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, cross‑functional environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
