Medical Director – Neurology Clinical Trials

About the role

The Medical Director will serve as the senior medical expert on IQVIA’s team conducting clinical research trials across the full spectrum of neurological diseases. This role combines medical monitoring responsibilities with strategic input to ensure scientific rigor and regulatory compliance throughout each study.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Medical Monitor (global or regional) on assigned neurology clinical trials.
• Provide scientific advice to project leaders on protocol design, eligibility criteria, and therapeutic area considerations.
• Support investigative sites with protocol‑related issues, including patient eligibility assessments.
• Deliver therapeutic‑area training to clinical project teams.
• Attend and present at investigator meetings, kick‑off meetings, weekly team updates, and client briefings.
• Review and clarify adverse events (AEs) and respond to urgent site queries.
• Contribute to the medical components of client proposals, including budgeting for medical monitoring.
• Advise internal stakeholders on scientific, regulatory, and commercial aspects of neurology trials.
• Participate in bid defense meetings and travel 5‑10% regionally and internationally as needed.

Required profile

• Medical degree from an accredited, internationally recognized school.
• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Neurology.
• Minimum two years of experience in clinical trials as an investigator or medical/clinical expert within pharma, CRO, or biotech.
• Strong ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, managers, and clients.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Current, robust knowledge of the scientific, clinical, regulatory, commercial, and competitive landscape in Neurology.
• Proven consulting and advisory experience across multiple assignments.
• Willingness to travel intermittently for domestic and international business assignments.
• Sub‑specialty interest in neuromuscular diseases, sleep disorders, or pediatric neurology is a plus.
