Porter – Apartment Community Maintenance

About the role

Hillsboro Townhouse Apartments is looking for a reliable Porter to keep the apartment community clean, safe and welcoming. You will handle routine cleaning, basic maintenance and landscaping tasks, ensuring residents and visitors enjoy a well‑maintained environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of common areas, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal and pressure washing.
• Maintain outdoor spaces by watering plants, trimming bushes and picking up litter.
• Carry out minor maintenance such as changing light bulbs, replacing filters and reporting repair needs.
• Keep parking lots, sidewalks and entryways free of debris.
• Respond promptly to resident requests related to cleanliness and upkeep.
• Assist with set‑up and breakdown of community events.
• Follow safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in janitorial, maintenance or porter roles is preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks – lifting, bending and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Reliability, punctuality and ability to follow instructions.

Required skills

• Operation of cleaning equipment such as pressure washers.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Basic maintenance tasks (light‑bulb replacement, filter changes).
