Tax Compliance Coordinator 2

About the role

The Tax Compliance Coordinator 2 provides end‑to‑end support for Argentina indirect tax compliance and operational tax activities. You will ensure timely and accurate calculation, filing, and payment of national and provincial taxes while adhering to local regulations and Chevron internal controls, including SOX.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, file, and coordinate payment of Argentina indirect tax returns (VAT, Gross Income, Debits & Credits, withholding taxes) and related schedules.
• Manage communications with Argentine tax authorities (ARCA and provincial agencies), handling information requests, audits, and notices.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Argentine tax regulation changes.
• Perform account reconciliations within the team’s scope.
• Support month‑end close activities, including tax accruals, variance analysis, and troubleshooting tax‑related postings.
• Collaborate with BASSC teams to obtain inputs, resolve issues, and align tax positions.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and controls optimization.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of Argentine national and provincial indirect tax legislation.
• Analytical problem‑solving ability to identify root causes and propose practical solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder management.
• Proactive ownership and continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas).
• Experience with ERP/reporting tools such as SAP or JDE.
