Strategic Buyer

About the role

ExxonMobil is seeking a Strategic Buyer to lead the procurement of goods and services that support its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses. The role will manage end‑to‑end sourcing activities, build strong supplier relationships and ensure cost‑effective, timely delivery of materials.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for high‑value spot purchases and long‑term contracts.
• Conduct market research, cost structure and total‑cost‑of‑ownership analyses to identify sourcing opportunities.
• Lead RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, auctions and bid evaluations, selecting and managing suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and commercial conditions to drive value and mitigate risk.
• Maintain and monitor supplier performance, ensuring quality, risk mitigation and capacity alignment.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders and internal business lines throughout the purchase‑to‑pay process.
• Utilize procurement systems such as SAP and Ariba for sourcing execution and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing or procurement within a large, global organization.
• Strong analytical abilities and commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to manage supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement.
