Specialized Online ESL Teacher for Blind, Deaf & Deafblind Students (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a bilingual specialist to deliver English language instruction to blind, deaf, and deaf‑blind children in Costa Rica. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in Central or South America while applying your expertise in visual impairment, deaf education, or deaf‑blindness.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct one‑on‑one and small‑group online ESL sessions using adapted and accessible materials.
• Utilise Braille, sign language, and other communication methods to meet each learner’s needs.
• Assess student progress and tailor instruction to individual abilities.
• Collaborate with the support team to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing assistance.
• Maintain accurate records of lesson plans and student outcomes.

Required profile

• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (C1‑C2 or native proficiency).
• Based in Central or South America.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field (preferred).
• Accredited TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification (minimum 120 hours).
• Formal qualification or proven experience in special‑needs education for visual impairment (TVI), deaf education (TOD), or deaf‑blindness.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience.
