Senior Accountant - Construction & Development

About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to oversee the daily accounting operations for our large-scale construction and development projects. This pivotal role ensures financial accuracy and provides critical insights to support our project management and investment teams.

Main Missions

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly/annual closings.
• Oversee project cost accounting, tracking labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses to ensure financial integrity.
• Monitor project budgets, identify variances, and provide detailed financial reporting to stakeholders.
• Handle construction-specific billing processes, including AIA documentation, percentage of completion, and lien waivers.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure financial alignment and operational efficiency.
• Support external audits, tax preparation, and the generation of financial reports for lenders and investors.
• Strengthen internal controls and proactively propose process improvements to optimize financial workflows.

Profile Required

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, specifically within the construction or real estate development industry.
• Strong expertise in project cost accounting and budget monitoring.
• Deep understanding of construction-specific financial practices (AIA billing, lien waivers, etc.).
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and explain budget variances.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with non-financial project teams.
