Accountant – Buenos Aires

About the role

The Accountant will support Pacific International Lines' operations in Buenos Aires, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with local GAAP (NCIF) and group accounting standards, and timely consolidation of financial data to headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing in accordance with local GAAP (NCIF) and IFRS (NIIF).
• Maintain statutory accounting books and electronic ledgers required by National Customs and Super Sociedades.
• Reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and social security accruals.
• Manage fixed assets, depreciation and related journal entries.
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements, including notes, under NCIF.
• Submit monthly consolidation reports to HQ using Oracle GFS/FCCS within the Day +5 deadline.
• Apply exchange‑rate rules for financial reporting in line with National Customs regulations.
• Ensure full compliance with national and municipal tax obligations (income tax, VAT, withholding, etc.).
• Calculate and validate tax provisions and deferred tax under NCIF.
• Coordinate with tax advisors, regional tax teams and HQ tax on fiscal interpretations.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Argentine GAAP (NCIF) and IFRS (NIIF).
• Proven experience in statutory reporting, tax compliance and payroll accounting.
• Ability to work with Oracle GFS and FCCS for consolidation.
• Fluent in English and Spanish with excellent analytical skills.
